Good morning guys!
The Winter Eating Challenge is still going strong. For dinner last night we made some delicious sausage lettuce wraps with sautéed peppers and onions, topped with sliced avocado and Greek Yogurt (in lieu of sour cream).
I have to be honest though, I’ve never craved an apple as much as I have this week. I am looking forward to be able to snag a honeycrisp whenever I want to again! Two days to go and those apples are all mine, I’m buying out the Whole Foods fruit section, sorry neighbors.
“Ready for Spring” Cross Training Workout
Recently, my favorite way to workout has been switching between cardio and strength work. I love the intensity and the adrenaline rush of constantly moving around and switching it up. If you’re anything like me, you start hoping for springtime sometime, oh around the second week of January. Holiday excitement dwindles, and the spring seems so far away. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wishing my life away, I’m just wishing I lived in Southern California.)
Fear not, ladies and gentlemen, the warm weather isn’t that far off….and before you know it, it will be tank top and shorts (read: bathing suit) weather. In the meantime, let’s focus on the present, and doing what we can to stay healthy and fit. Also, working out is a cheaper warmth generating option than purchasing a flight to San Diego.
Annnyway, here’s a workout to try on the running path (no equipment needed for the strength moves!), at the gym, or on the treadmill at home. I promise it’s NOT that weird to switch on and off the treadmill. Trust me on this. In fact, other people will probably wonder where you got that kickass workout idea from.
Greatist is always pumping out fresh new articles relating to health fitness like 35 Cardio Based Body Weight Exercises (I use this all the time!), Health and Fitness Trends to Watch in 2013 (whoop! female friendly strength!), and the complete guide to calories infographic. I am thrilled to be a part of the team and have access to new content to share with you guys!
The Greatist Manifesto:
Here’s to a healthy weekend of making smart choices and realizing that we don’t need six pack abs to be happy. Cheers!
